10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads. 11 The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold (KJV)

Havilah was officially introduced to the church on March 7, 2010 with five members namely Raymond Boye Oni, Godwin Banwo Craig, Funmi Fadayomi, Omolara Savage and Valentine Okonwo. The purpose of the group was to generate revenue for the land in anticipation of moving to the future Household of Faith church.

The objective for the church of the future is to create a functional church that comprises of:
• Guest House
• Mini-Luxury apartment
• Parking lot
• Charity foundation
• Ceremonial/Conference Hall
• Day Care
• Shop/Office complex
• Car Wash
• Jogging trail/Prayer walk
• Outdoor games

The group came up with the idea of splitting the payment into categories such as

  • Platinum pays ($5000)
  • Gold ($ 2500)
  • Sliver ($2000)
  • Bronze ($1000)
  • Copper ($500)

People were given commitment forms and encouraged to pledge. The intention was to get everyone to participate and be comfortable with the category they are representing. The other creative idea incorporated was to display a weekly pie-chart, in order to give the congregation clarity of their contribution.

On April 4, 2010, twenty-two members were added to the original five members. The new members were chosen from different department in the church. The additional members changed the dynamic of the group influenced the decision making process. This also encouraged more creativity. The new members added new ideas such as creating Havilah envelops, giving presentation in church and creating flexibility payments for participants of the commitment forms; Havilah has been very successful, I encourage you to build for the lord and see the lord build for you.
